Frequently Asked Questions

What is Delta-8?

According to the FDA, “Delta-8 THC is one of over 100 cannabinoids produced naturally by the cannabis plant but is not found in significant amounts in the cannabis plant. As a result, concentrated amounts of delta-8 THC are typically manufactured from hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD).” Further, hemp-derived Delta-8 THC products will convey psychoactive and intoxicating effects unlike CBD, which is regarded as having no such effects.

Will I fail a drug test?

Most likely, yes. Hemp-derived Delta-8 is THC and drug tests often do not discern between Delta-8 and Delta-9. If you are worried about failing a drug test, do not consume products containing Delta-8.

How much should I take?

As with any hemp-derived CBD product, you should always start low and slow. Although Delta-8 is regarded as being less potent than the more ubiquitous Delta-9, it is highly recommended to follow the directions on the package. Often, this consists of consuming a portion of the whole, waiting for effects to begin, and re-evaluating if more effects are desired. Typically, effects can begin to be felt with as little as 5mg, depending on the method of ingestion. Consume responsibly.

Is Delta-8 legal?

Yes, as a cannabinoid derived from CBD hemp, Delta-8 is federally legal, subject to its designation in the 2018 Farm Bill. As of 2022, the following states have restricted or made Delta-8 illegal: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, and Washington. Please ensure you check your state and local regulations for confirmation.

Is Delta-8 intended to treat or cure any ailments?

As with most hemp-derived and cannabis products, Delta-8 has not been evaluated or confirmed by the FDA to provide any therapeutic or medical uses.

Will Delta-8 interact with my prescription medications?

Possibly. We recommend consulting with your physician about using hemp-derived Delta-8 if there are any concerns.
